NR2003 In A Window
Tweak
Ok, so you’re tired of hitting (alt + tab) and the game either
hangs or crashes when you’re trying to check something out outside of the game.
Well fear no more, that’s a thing of the past. The first thing to know for this
to work is to make sure that your desktop resolution is the exact same
resolution as what you have selected in your game. For example, if your desktop
resolution is 1280x1024x32…..then your game has to utilize the very exact
resolution. If it doesn’t then the window option is not available.
Ok so now we have your desktop
resolution set at 1280x1024x32 or whatever you use, but we will use this as our
example. The way to do this is to right click you desktop screen and select
properties then settings. Once that is done step 1 is complete. The next step
is to set the game up in a window. To do this you will have to select the exact
same resolution as your desktop in which this case is 1280x1024x32. Go into
your game and select “Configure 3d Graphics”

As you can see when you have the proper
resolution selected, the Run in a window option is available. Just make sure
you select this or it won’t work. If you have the incorrect resolution selected
this option will be grayed out and you will not be able to select it. Once you
are set with your selection hit finish and it will go into a
optimizing screen configuring your selections. When this is finished running
everything will close down and you will be ready to fire it up.
Now some when they fire the game up
will have no problems at all, the window will be centered however most will
have the window off center. This is all fixable by doing the following. Go into
your nascar folder and select the app ini file. Open
up your app ini file and look for the following line: windowTopLeftX=0 this will be your left to
right centering. If you see just a little line to the left a minor change is
all that is needed. Usually a -3 will fix it, so basically it will look like
this: windowTopLeftX=-3 If it is to the right the numbers will be
positive….positive will move the screen to the right and negative will move it
to the left. Now the next thing to adjust is the height of the window. The line
that reads: windowTopLeftY=0 will be your height adjustment. Negative numbers
will move the screen up and positive will move them down. A good starting spot
will be the following: windowTopLeftY=-19 When you are finished making your
adjustments click the red x to close and select yes when it asks you to save.
Fire up your game and see if it still needs adjusting or if it’s good as is. If
it needs adjusting just repeat the steps outlined above. Hope this helps and
enjoy!
